  • Hacksaw blades - Meant for cutting metal. They are 255 mm (10 in) or 305mm (12in) long. To cut correctly, hacksaw blades must be fitted with the teeth facing forward. There are different blades available to suit the hardness of the metal being cut.
  • Hacksaws - Standard hacksaws will take 255 mm (10 in) or 305 mm (12 in) blades. Usually they can be adjusted to take either size. After taking up slack, turn the adjuster screw two whole turns for the correct blade tension.
  • Hammer wedges - The metal wedges that tighten the head of a hammer.
  • Hand drill - These days an electric drill is used most jobs, but you may find that a hand drill is much more controllable for the smaller drill sizes.
  • Hawk - A small board held by a handle and used to hold mortar.
  • Hot air stripper - Electric device for softening paint ready for stripping.
